The alternative is to wait bc they won't decide/debate openly until after their damn recess and cowardly run away from their MANY unfulfilled duties as public servants promising to protect the constitution. How else do they ethically justify LEAVING at THIS TIME in history? I'm so angry. I'm glad there's "something" to "attend" tomorrow that I hope will help show them clearly whom they claim to represent. Thanks for your shoe-leather reporting 🎤🗒️✍🏼👂🏼📰

It restores due process a very important element, it doesn’t seem to address detention center abuses, including their proliferation and bypassing municipal codes and state prison standards, their profiteering , their evasion of oversight and also humane practices, nor are the abusive uses of “ non-lethal” protest handling methods addressed. Training is not addressed, very big issue.

I'll ask them if they come back. Super curious to know what kind of traction this can get.

What about the violence and raping of detainees?

That's a very important question, Ann. I don't think that this bill would address that specifically, but it would make immigration officials more accountable by a wide measure.

It is better than what is currently on the table but more needs to be done. We’re supposedly a nation of civilized law and order.
