We need to get rid of AIPAC, have healthy elections without interference: United Democracy Project, the super PAC officially aligned with AIPAC, has spent more than $3.1 million in the Seventh Congressional District to support Melissa Conyears-Ervin, the Chicago city treasurer.

AIPAC owns reps in Congress to the tune of $6-7 MILLION in some cases. When OUR LAWMAKERS are indebted to a FOREIGN INTEREST that much, they are no longer capable of making decisions that benefit US, their own people. We pay them, we elect them, BUT THEY DON'T WORK FOR US.

The second article is old, but shows how AIPAC, however well-intentioned they may have started, is now riding high on the power of OWNING the lawmaking branch of the most powerful country on the planet. Do we really think this is a good idea? This borders on state-sanctioned TREASON.

We need to root out EVERY iteration of AIPAC they come up with, and make sure that they can't have this kind of influence again. The best way to do this is to flood the independent candidates with grassroots money, sent to the candidate specifically, NOT to the DNC, DCCC or any PAC. If we can do this like Momdani's campaign, get even a couple dozen new, unencumbered reps in the House and Senate, we'll be on our way!

there is real committed grassroots resistance to ICE and fascism happening out there and I think the highest degree of that is rapid response. let’s also shout out rapid responders, as well as those helping street vendors, day laborer corners, coalitions, mutual aid fundraisers, protestors, people supporting detained immigrants like at Adelanto the private concentration camp, and so much more. NDLON has a great list of 10 ways to support our immigrant neighbors right now.
