This protecting I.C.E. is ridiculous. They don't need protection. The people they yank out of beds, during the night & arrest them, are the ones needing protection, but it's obvious that many are blind, deaf & dumb to this issue.

It's unclear if migrants would be protected by this same policy.

I wonder if this could be circumvented by having apps that record, for example, ICE vehicles or activity rather than officers. I’m sure this will also be shot down eventually of course, but if one is logging government-purchased uniforms, cars, weapons, and government-funded activity etc. this may offer a stronger case against the targeting individuals argument.

Another option, to keep it accessible and away from Apple’s veto, is a web-based system.

Interesting. Flagging your comment to the app maker. Let's see what he says!

Unfortunately, they see any activity thats noting ICE stuff as a part of all of this. I saw this come up with folks were taking pictures of license plates of vehicles and it fell under the same takedowns. The argument is anything that shows ICE activity may harm them (never mind that theyre actually harming others).

It's also important to note that they are removing the ability to distrubute it through the app store - which is a level of gatekeeping. But when I desigend it I designed it as something called a Progressive Web App. You can go to the map on a website, add to your home screen, and the same experience of the app is on your phone - without going to the app store. I have a video on that here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DPWs8hxEeCo/

Let me know if this helps..

Apple's App Store Guideline 1.1.1, prohibits “defamatory, discriminatory, or mean-spirited content” directed at “religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, national/ethnic origin, or other targeted groups.”

In 2025, agents from federal agency were inexplicably protected by this corporate guideline ... BUZZ ... Adam!

Freedom Of Speech applies here. Using a private company like Apple to limit tracking of ICE detentions & unlawful ICE activity must be stopped.

Using the internet as a tool to Control Free Speech must end.

The collaboration of corporate executives with fascism is nothing new, alas. Curry favor with despots, and help their bottom line. They don't recall how even corporate heads are not safe in dictatorships.

"Apple supports state sponsored murder and kidnapping". That should be the headline of every Apple story. I17 aids and abetts murder of American citizens. Oh and it has three cameras to capture state led violence. Shame them.
