A New Poll Shows a Political Reality Ignored

A new survey by the University of Maryland School of Public Policy shows big bipartisan support in Nevada for expanding legal citizenship pathways for undocumented immigrants. A huge majority of the 599 respondents favor reforms offering legal status for Dreamers and essential workers over deporting them. Over 170,000 undocumented immigrants are estimated to reside in Nevada, a state where one in five people are immigrants. While opinions vary on border security, the poll highlights strong public backing for immigration reform, transcending political divides in the state.
