WASHINGTON — Organizers in California and North Carolina have found a new pressure point in the immigration fight: the return counter at Home Depot. They’re calling out the retailer for letting ICE turn its parking lots—historic gathering spots for day laborers—into what one advocate described as “ground zero for enforcement.”

So this week, immigrant rights groups rolled out a coordinated campaign of mass returns, a kind of small-dollar filibuster. The move is simple and wildly effective: buy a 17-cent ice scraper, rebranded “ICE scraper” for the occasion … then march right back to customer service and return it. Over and over. Store by store. Line after line. Let freedom ring!

The actions, led by real ones at NDLON and the Carolina Migrant Network, hit Home Depots this week in Monrovia and Burbank, California, and Charlotte, North Carolina. The message is: if ICE is going to turn hardware store parking lots into hunting grounds, the community can turn the checkout lane into a blockade.

The heat lands just as the “We Ain’t Buying It” boycott, backed by Indivisible and Black Voters Matter, kicks off tomorrow, targeting Home Depot alongside Amazon and Target. Meanwhile, watch this space … and Home Depot’s stock price which has been tumbling since organizers announced the boycott. T’is the season to FAFO:
