House Democrats Reintroduce Bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act
Despite bipartisan backing, the American Dream and Promise Act reenters a divided Congress with no clear path forward.
WASHINGTON — On Wednesday, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-TX-29) reintroduced the bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act of 2025, co-authored with Representatives Nydia Velázquez (D-NY-07) and Yvette Clarke (D-NY-09).
The bill aims to provide a long overdue pathway to citizenship for Dreamers—undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children—as well as Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) recipients. The legislation has garnered support from 201 Members of Congress and is endorsed by nearly 120 organizations.
