Dear Reader,

Not too long ago, one of you unsubscribed from Migrant Insider because I had closed the comments section—a decision I made last winter during our earliest days as a news outlet. My thinking then was simple: focus on breaking news, don’t get distracted by trolls.

Since then, our readership has grown nearly a hundredfold. Our paid readership (that’s you, receiving this update) has expanded as well. Needless to say, we take your feedback seriously. It’s the combination of paying subscribers and sponsors that keeps Migrant Insider alive.

So, we listened to that reader’s complaint and reopened the comments. Not just for paying subscribers, but for everyone on Substack—turning our posts into a forum for immigration news.
