So now OTHER nations are getting in on incarcerating people in the USA? International Corporations cut our trees and make wood pellets. leaving us bare, eroded soils to choke our watersheds, to ship wood pellets abroad to pollute our commonair ( they are made in USA) to sell them to pollute other skies and our common global temperature here and abroad. We grow industrial crops to provide corn for international livestock instead of food crops for our own people and subsidize this with our tax funds, going to millionair-owned agro to do it. Now we are paying to build prisons run by other nations and housing those here, a majority of whom are here legally or are citizens of the USA. Only about 20% of those detained ever committed any crime other than one related to immigration status. Most have had no immigration or other legal hearing that holds them in detention for charges that would warrant their being held. Thanks for your help managing the jails, world. You would think our regular carceral system has seen enough people to trian us to do this ourselves. Only in the USA.
Sadly, we have corrupt billionaires here in Canada too. And MAGA types. In Alberta, we’re fighting our corrupt provincial government as it pushes us farther toward US-style white Christofascism.
