We need to stay informed, but these stories really bother me. So very much. I cannot understand or handle the cruelty and outright over-the-top abuse that goes on.
There needs to be Accountability for this Geo corp and others where prisoners died due to neglect or abuse, etc. These are human beings not animals. This keeps me up at night as well. Knowing that there are children being kept in these places is just unspeakable!
I am curious about standing going forward. It also begs the question of whether the fed govt and state govts have a duty to pause any new geo contracts for other facilities, or whether they will claim it is a one facility problem. Utah might want to take notice. Vanguard also, since they have a duty to shareholders. Core sold 2 or 3 recently to "us" and this will have implications there as well; at least 2 were in CA and have always had issues. I hadn't seen this, thanks for linking it.
